Director’s Note
I have shot LIFE ON THEIR SHOULDERS during the development and research period of my film « Waiting for the Clouds ». Even though I had spent long years in the Black Sea region, the intensity and testimony that I have experienced in recent years had created in me a desire along with a feeling of responsability that cannot be resisted to make this documentary. The life I had been silent witness to force me to question the meanning of existence and timelessness, and drove me to a desire to make a film that would at least enable every moment that I have lived, have been withness to, the enbelievable struggle of these women that enthusiastically let me enter their lives not be forgotten.
